Our classic set of Philippine Playing cards featuring Philippine birds! The Philippines is home to over 270 endemic bird species that come in various shapes, sizes, and colors. This first-of-its-kind playing card set features 54 Philippine-endemic birds paired with Philippine native plants, adorned with Philippine textile motifs throughout the packaging, and all colorfully illustrated by artist and designer Vinz Pascua.

Each bird species that we have featured is accompanied by their Common English Name, Scientific Name based on the 2026 HBW BirdLife Checklist, and local names for most of them. Each card also has its 2026 IUCN Red List 3.1 and DENR DAO 2019-09 conservation status. 

Several months after these cards sold out at the 2025 Manila International Book Fair, we're proud to announce they're now back in stock for 2026! Apart from the updated bird information, this year's playing cards have a couple of updated illustrations, more local names, and a new box lid design that makes it easier to open and close after several uses.

On June 29, 2026, the Haring Ibon Playing Cards, designed by Vinz Pascua, garnered the RED AWARD for Image-making at the 2026 Good Design Award Philippines, the most prestigious design award in the Philippines, presented by the DTI-Design Center of the Philippines.

A few months later, on October 15, 2026, the Haring Ibon Playing Cards won the highly coveted G MARK at the 2026 Good Design Award Japan, one of Asia's most prestigious design awards, presented by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

On October 15, 2026, the Haring Ibon Playing Cards won the highly coveted G MARK at the 2026 Good Design Award Japan.

Good Design Award Japan, presented by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion, is Japan's most prestigious and most comprehensive design award and is recognized as one of Asia's biggest and most competitive design awards. Design Promotion. 

The Haring Ibon Playing Cards was selected from a pool of 5,111 entries from designers worldwide, with only 9 winning projects coming from the Philippines.

Good Design Award Philippines Winner

On June 29, 2026, the Haring Ibon Playing Cards, designed by Vinz Pascua, garnered the RED AWARD for Image-making at the 2026 Good Design Award Philippines, the most prestigious design award in the Philippines, presented by the DTI-Design Center of the Philippines.

The Good Design Award is a National Award conferred by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Design Center of the Philippines for designs and products that excel in bringing together the universal ideals of form, function, and innovation, with the Filipino value of malasakit (compassion).

Most recently, the Haring Ibon Playing Cards are featured in the August issue of Tatler Homes Philippines!

In this issue, the Haring Ibon Playing Cards were selected for this month's Editor's Picks, entitled Organic Matter, alongside several artisanal furniture makers from across the Philippines, as written by Celine Dabao.

No other Philippine-themed Playing Cards have brought a distinctly Filipino approach and look as directly as the Haring Ibon Playing Cards. Philippine birds are embedded in Philippine culture, and they are always meant to be a part of our everyday lives.

In an item as simple as Playing Cards, Filipinos from all educational backgrounds can get to know all these threatened endemic birds in an aesthetically appealing manner. Especially for the emerging city-centered Filipino market, we need to empower them to recognize that we have so much to be proud of as Filipinos and that we must protect our country’s national and natural heritage. By making Philippine Wildlife visible to Filipinos through art and design in everyday life, we help build public appreciation for our very own Philippine Wildlife and even foster a new generation of artists, conservationists, and environmentalists.
